Classic dishes and cocktails as ratios, with stand-ins worked out from your own pantry.
Most dishes are a ratio plus a choice of ingredients. A vinaigrette is three parts oil to one of acid; a curry is protein, liquid and aromatics in roughly four, three and one. Bitflinger Recipes shows some 1,600 dishes that way, from roast chicken and lasagna to pho, mole and pavlova, grouped into the families they belong to. The whole Bitflinger Cocktails library sits in the tab beside them: some 560 drinks, worked out the same way.

How it works
Tell it what is in your pantry and it shows what you can make. When a dish calls for something you don't have, it builds the closest version from what you do: it picks stand-ins of the same kind, then adjusts the amounts until the salt, sugar, acid, fat, savouriness and heat come back to the original's, and it scores how close the result is.
Two tabs: Food and Drinks
Food is the dishes and Drinks is every cocktail from Bitflinger Cocktails. Each tab keeps its own list of what you have: a pantry for the food, a bar for the drinks. Open it from the button at the top of the tab and tap what you have, or start from the usual staples in its menu.
See what you can make
Every dish has a tick when your pantry covers it as written. Turn on Can make to see just those, or With swaps to add the ones you can make with a stand-in or two, scored for how close they come.
Group the library by ratio, protein, key ingredient, macros, prep time or total time, or search it by name, ingredient or taste.
Make it from your pantry
Missing something? Choose Make it from my pantry on the dish's page. The app swaps in the closest ingredients you have and adjusts the amounts to bring the balance back. The directions follow the swap, so the steps name what you are actually using.
Cook for your table
Choose vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, Mediterranean or Low-FODMAP, and mark the allergens to avoid. The library shows what fits as written or with a stand-in. Each dish shows its protein, carbohydrate, fat and calories per serving, and scales to the number you are cooking for.
Make it yours
Tap the heart on a dish or a drink, or hold its card, to add it to Favorites at the top of its tab. The settings button beside the search changes servings, units, the swap threshold, the accent colour and dark mode.
Support
Email help@bitflinger.net with a question, a bug or a recipe you think is wrong. Saying which dish and what is in your pantry helps.
Moving to a new phone
Your pantry, bar, favorites and settings live on the device. In the app, open Settings and choose Export backup to save them as a small file, then Import backup on the new phone. A backup from Bitflinger Cocktails brings its bar across too.
Refunds
The App Store and Google Play handle purchases and refunds. Ask the store you bought from: Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, Google from your Play order history.
Privacy
The app collects nothing. The details are in the Bitflinger Recipes privacy policy.
Dietary and allergen information is a guide, marked from typical ingredients. Brands differ: always read the label, and ask when eating out. Please drink responsibly: the cocktails are for adults of legal drinking age.
